The Friendship Knot Quilters' Guild was founded 30 years ago by a small group of Sarasota area women who wanted to promote quilting in our community. Today we have almost 300 members.
Our business meetings are held the third Monday of each month (except December) at Bahia Vista Mennonite Church, 4041 Bahia Vista Street, Sarasota. Doors open at 6:15 to allow members to visit, peruse our extensive library, sign up for fabulous quilting classes, submit donations to our charitable projects, purchase books and magazines, and participate in ongoing smaller projects.
Business meetings are brief and designed to keep members abreast of what is happening in the Guild. The programs can vary from a nationally known speaker, to a member stash sale or a hands-on charity project. Meetings always include a Show and Tell where members are encouraged to display their latest creations.
The Guild also has a number of smaller groups called Cottage Groups. The meetings and member size are determined by each group depending on meeting room capacity. These allow members more personal contacts with others interested in quilting.
